Tragic Electrocution Incident Claims Three Lives in Bihars Sitamarhi District

A tragic electrocution in Sitamarhi, Bihar, results in the deaths of three individuals, including a husband and wife, while another is injured.

Sitamarhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic incident in Sitamarhi, Bihar, three people lost their lives early Saturday morning after coming into contact with exposed electric wires laid in a field. The victims included a husband and wife, while another individual sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred in Ward Number 5 of Takiya Tola, located in the Baigania block.

According to reports, around 3 a.m., Mohammad Islam Mansuri, a resident of Takiya Tola, ventured out to search for his buffalo that had wandered off. In the darkness, he began searching the nearby fields and approached a rice paddy.

To protect the rice crop from wild boars, electric wires had been strung around the field. Unfortunately, the wires were not visible in the dark, and Mansuri accidentally came into contact with them, resulting in his immediate death. When his wife, Rubida Khatoon, noticed he had not returned for a long time, she went to look for him. Tragically, she too was electrocuted while trying to save her husband.

Asmat Ali, a villager who arrived at the scene after hearing about the incident, also fell victim to the electric shock and died. Reports indicate that several others were injured in the incident and were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

Following the tragedy, a crowd of villagers gathered at the site. Two dead wild boars were also found, raising suspicions that the electric current was intentionally used to protect the crops from these animals. Local police have arrived to investigate the incident and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the installation of the electric wires. The community is in mourning following the loss of three lives in this unfortunate event.
