Tragic Drowning Claims Lives of Three Brothers in Purnia

Purnia, August 9: In a heartbreaking incident in Purnia district, three brothers drowned while trying to save each other on Sunday. The victims have been identified as Mofizul (12), Tafizul (10), and Sairajul (8).

The tragedy unfolded in Ward Number 7 of the Kullakhas Panchayat under the Kasba block.

According to officials, the four sons of Alamgir went fishing in a reservoir behind a warehouse near their home. During the fishing activity, one of the brothers began to drown. In a desperate attempt to save him, the other two brothers jumped into the deep water and also started to struggle. The fourth brother, Ali Hussain, rushed back to the village to inform their family.

Relatives and local residents quickly arrived at the scene and, after considerable effort, managed to retrieve all three children from the water. Unfortunately, they were already deceased. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the entire village, leaving the family shattered.

Ranjit Paswan, the head of Kullakhas Panchayat, expressed condolences to the grieving family and urged the administration to provide them with government financial assistance.

Nishant Kumar, the Kasba Circle Officer, confirmed the drowning deaths and stated that an officer was dispatched to the site as soon as the incident was reported.

The district police have sent the bodies for post-mortem at Purnia Medical College. The tragedy has created a somber atmosphere in Alam Nagar, with sorrowful villagers gathering to console the bereaved family.
