Tragic Car Accident on Rajasthan Highway Claims Four Lives

A car accident on the Dausa-Manoharpur Highway results in four fatalities and two serious injuries, highlighting road safety concerns.

Dausa, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Early Friday morning, a tragic accident occurred on the Dausa-Manoharpur National Highway (NH-148) near Raisar, Rajasthan, when a car veered off course and plunged into a deep gorge. The incident resulted in the deaths of four individuals, while two others sustained serious injuries.

According to officials, all six occupants of the vehicle were returning to Agra after visiting the Khatu Shyamji temple. The accident happened around 6 AM when a tire burst caused the driver to lose control of the car, leading it to tumble into the ravine.

Upon receiving the alert, police arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of local residents, rescued those trapped inside the vehicle. The injured were transported to a hospital via ambulance, while the deceased were taken to the morgue at a government hospital.

Raisar police station chief Rajpal Singh confirmed that the tire burst was the cause of the accident. The victims were identified as Atul, Mukul, Rupesh, and Shiva, all residents of Agra. The two injured, Rahul and Arpit, were admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

The accident caused significant traffic jams on the Dausa-Manoharpur National Highway, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides, leading to considerable delays for travelers.

After ensuring the injured were safely transported to the hospital, police worked to restore traffic flow. Later, a crane was employed to retrieve the damaged vehicle from the gorge.

In a separate incident in Dausa district, a loading tempo en route from Delhi to Kota overturned into a ditch off the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway early Friday, injuring five individuals. The injured were identified as Noorjahan, Zakat Ali, Kunal, Ajay, and the driver, Vijai Pal, all from Kota, who work in entertainment at fairs. They are currently receiving treatment at Dausa District Hospital. Police reported that the driver dozed off while driving, leading to the mishap.
