Dehradun, April 21: A tragic road accident occurred in the Kaudiyala area of Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning around 8 AM. An Ertiga car lost control and collided with a truck loaded with iron rods. The impact was so severe that the car was extensively damaged, trapping all passengers inside.
According to reports, there were eight people in the car, including the driver. Among them were five women and three men. Upon receiving the accident report, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team quickly arrived at the scene. They used necessary equipment to rescue all individuals trapped in the vehicle.
During the rescue operation, some passengers were found to be injured. The SDRF team promptly transported all the injured to the nearest district hospital via ambulance, where they are currently receiving treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring their condition.
Sadly, one woman died at the scene. She has been identified as Dhuma Devi, approximately 55 years old, the wife of the late Dilwar Singh. Following the accident, chaos ensued at the site.
After completing the rescue operations, the SDRF team informed the local police about the incident. Subsequently, the deceased’s body was handed over to the civil police for further legal procedures.
Initial reports suggest that the accident was caused by the vehicle losing control. However, the police and administration are conducting a thorough investigation. They are also looking into the speed of both the truck and the car at the time of the collision and the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Local authorities have urged residents to exercise caution while driving on the roads and to adhere to speed limits to prevent such accidents in the future.
