New Delhi, April 21: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has asserted that the party will secure a massive majority in the upcoming West Bengal elections, leading to the formation of a government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
In an interview in New Delhi, Khandelwal criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming her 15-year tenure has only favored a particular group, resulting in significant public discontent in Bengal. He emphasized that this anger has been echoed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Khandelwal confidently predicted that the TMC will face a major defeat, paving the way for a BJP government with a substantial majority.
Responding to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Modi, Khandelwal stated that it reflects Kharge’s age and a loss of mental balance. He condemned the use of inappropriate language against the Prime Minister, asserting that such behavior is unprecedented in history. While opposing the government is acceptable, he stressed that this level of disrespect is intolerable.
Khandelwal further remarked that when the Prime Minister meets small shopkeepers and purchases their goods, Mamata Banerjee dismisses it as theatrics. He accused her of insulting the entire business community, asserting that small traders work hard to create jobs. He claimed that traders across the country oppose her statements, and the business community in Bengal will do everything possible to defeat her.
He also commented on Pappu Yadav, known for his controversial statements, stating that he must respond to the notice issued by the Women’s Commission. Khandelwal affirmed that the law will take its course, emphasizing that no one is above the law.
Regarding the Delhi High Court’s dismissal of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s petition concerning the excise policy, Khandelwal praised Justice Swarnkant for fulfilling his duties and providing an appropriate response to Kejriwal.
