TMC MP Kirti Azad Accuses BJP Supporters of Vandalizing Party Office in Bardhaman
TMC MP Kirti Azad claims vandalism at his Bardhaman office, blaming BJP supporters for the incident and urging government intervention.

Bardhaman, October 20 (Daily Kiran) : Kirti Azad, a Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has alleged that his party office in Bardhaman was vandalized earlier this week. The incident reportedly involved the removal of his nameplate from the office door and theft of official documents, including letterheads and seals.
Azad shared images of the alleged damage on social media, asserting that the vandalism was carried out by supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In his posts, he criticized the current state of law and order in West Bengal, stating, “BJP goons have vandalized my office and taken my official documents. Please pay attention to this matter. This is not how political battles should be fought. I challenge you to a live debate.”
The TMC MP’s office is located in the Karjan Gate area of Bardhaman city and has reportedly been closed for several days. Local sources indicated that the nameplate was found discarded near a garbage bin adjacent to the office. Azad also shared a photo of the discarded nameplate on his social media accounts.
The incident has sparked a political controversy, with TMC leader Debu Tudu accusing BJP-affiliated miscreants of the vandalism. Tudu expressed his disappointment, stating, “Such incidents are unfortunate, especially when everyone comes together during festivals. This kind of culture did not exist in Bengal before.” He mentioned that a police complaint would be filed regarding the incident.
In response, the BJP dismissed the allegations made by Azad and local TMC leaders. Debajyoti Sinha Roy, the party’s district secretary, asserted that the BJP does not engage in vandalism and that the truth of the incident would emerge after reviewing local CCTV footage. He added that if any BJP worker is found involved, the party would take appropriate action.
Tensions continue to rise as both parties prepare for further political discourse surrounding this incident.
