Beijing, May 5: According to the Lhasa Customs Department, Tibet’s exports of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries reached 727.34 million yuan in the first quarter of this year. This marks a significant increase of 23.9% compared to the same period last year. Notably, exports of lithium batteries and new energy vehicles surged by 3.48 times and 25.1%, respectively.
This growth in exports directly reflects the enhancement of Tibet’s vital trade routes to South Asia and the ongoing optimization of the port’s business environment. To facilitate the efficient export of these products, Lhasa Customs has implemented supportive measures tailored to the characteristics of the products and the needs of enterprises.
In the next phase, the Lhasa Customs Department will focus on the demand for product exports, further improve customs clearance and supervision models, upgrade port smart devices, and facilitate Tibet’s opening to South Asia. This initiative aims to ensure that more “Made in China” products reach South Asia from the icy borders.
