Patna, 01 September (Kiran News): People across Bihar have been grappling with sweltering and humid conditions due to rising temperatures over the past two to three days. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm and lightning warning for Patna and 28 other districts.

A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been declared in Siwan and Gopalganj, while strong winds at speeds of 30-40 km/h are expected in most regions. This alert has been issued due to moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal and cyclonic circulation, conditions that may persist for the next few days.
According to the Meteorological Department, most areas in North Bihar witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday. In Patna, the maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 34.1°C, with a minimum of 29.1°C. Gaya saw a maximum of 35.1°C and a minimum of 26.8°C, Bhagalpur recorded 33.0°C and 27.9°C, while Muzaffarpur registered 32.0°C and 27.4°C. Purnia experienced the highest temperature at 35.4°C. The impact of humidity is expected to intensify over the next three days as temperatures continue to rise, and the monsoon is likely to become active again from today.
Significant rainfall was recorded in several areas: Kalyanpur (90.2 mm), Piprakothi (82.4 mm), Kotwa (48.2 mm), Sugauli (42.8 mm), Patahi (38.2 mm), Sangrampur (36.2 mm), Raxaul (34.6 mm), Motihari (33.2 mm), and Areraj (30.4 mm) in East Champaran. Siswan in Siwan received 23.4 mm, Dhengra Bridge in Sitamarhi 20 mm, Phulwaria in Gopalganj 18.8 mm, Shambhuganj in Banka 18.4 mm, Gopalganj 18.2 mm, Gaya 17.2 mm, Sheohar 16.8 mm, Baltara in Khagaria 16 mm, and Nawanagar in Buxar 15.4 mm of rainfall. Rainfall was less in the southern districts of Bihar, but the risk of flooding has increased in northern regions.
