Three Government Officials Arrested in Telangana for Bribery
Telangana officials, including a sub-tehsildar, were arrested for accepting bribes in two separate corruption cases.

Hyderabad, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Hyderabad arrested three government officials on Thursday for accepting bribes in two separate cases. Among those apprehended were a sub-tehsildar, a village revenue officer, and an assistant engineer from the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL).
Amanaganti Sandeep Kumar Reddy, the sub-tehsildar from the Keesara Mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, and village revenue officer Nannuri Vijay Kumar Reddy, along with a private individual named Kavali Balakrishna, were caught demanding a bribe of ₹5 lakh. According to the ACB, the sub-tehsildar solicited this amount through Balakrishna to remove the complainant’s agricultural properties from a restricted list.
The ACB disclosed in a press release that the sub-tehsildar had asked for ₹5 lakh to expedite the removal of the complainant’s family properties from the restricted list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908, and had accepted ₹2.5 lakh. Acting on the sub-tehsildar’s instructions, Vijay Kumar Reddy allegedly incited Balakrishna to collect the bribe from the complainant.
ACB officials apprehended Balakrishna while he was accepting the ₹2.5 lakh, which was recovered from him. The agency stated that both revenue officials acted dishonestly to obtain undue benefits. All three individuals were presented before the special judge for ACB cases in Nampally for judicial custody.
In a separate incident, an assistant engineer from TSSPDCL was also arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1.2 lakh. The accused, Pandla Sandhya Rakesh, who works in the Madanpet subdivision of the Santosh Nagar area, reportedly demanded this amount in exchange for approving an application to install six new electricity meters to replace old, lost ones.
The ACB’s city range-II officials caught the assistant engineer in the act, recovering the alleged bribe amount based on their information. The agency confirmed that he had acted dishonestly to gain an improper advantage.
