New Delhi, April 4: Telangana MLA T. Raja Singh, representing the Goshamahal constituency, has responded to a notice issued by the Maharashtra Police. The notice advised him to refrain from using offensive language during an upcoming rally.
In a post on the social media platform X, Singh expressed his disappointment over receiving the notice from the local Deputy Superintendent of Police before his rally scheduled for Saturday at 6 PM in Biloali, Maharashtra. He questioned the appropriateness of such a notice aimed at gatherings meant to raise awareness about Hindutva and unite Hindus.
Singh emphasized that expressing one’s views and raising societal awareness is a fundamental right of every citizen in a democratic system. He described the police’s actions as concerning and unfortunate.
Recently, the Maharashtra Police had sent a notice to Raja Singh regarding the use of offensive language during his rally. The notice instructed him to avoid any derogatory remarks during the event.
The notice stated that a prohibitory order is currently in effect within the jurisdiction of the Biloali police station. It raised concerns that Singh’s presence and speech could disrupt public order, disturb peace, or hurt the religious sentiments of other communities.
Furthermore, the notice warned Singh against making any speech, statement, or expression that could incite violence, disturb public peace, or offend the religious feelings of any community. He was also advised to refrain from making inflammatory, derogatory, or sensitive comments related to religion, caste, community, historical figures, or traditions. Additionally, he was instructed not to engage in any networks that could foster hostility, hatred, or malice among different religious or social groups. Compliance with all legal directives issued by police officers upon entering the jurisdiction of the Biloali police station was also mandated.
