Telangana Government Announces ₹419 Crore Diwali Bonus for Singareni Employees
Telanganas Singareni Collieries employees to receive a ₹419 crore Diwali bonus, benefiting around 38,000 workers.

Hyderabad, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Telangana government has declared a Diwali bonus of ₹419 crore for employees of the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). This announcement was made on October 30, with the bonus set to be distributed on November 5.
Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka extended early Diwali wishes to the coal company’s workforce during the announcement. He instructed the company management to ensure the distribution of this performance-based bonus.
Approximately 38,000 employees will benefit from this initiative, with each worker receiving ₹1,10,250. The company will allocate a total of ₹419 crore for this bonus.
This marks the second bonus for Singareni employees within a month. Earlier, on October 13, the state government announced a ₹596 crore bonus for the Dussehra festival. Following the Deputy Chief Minister’s directives, SCCL management has already begun the process of distributing the Diwali bonus.
SCCL’s CMD, Buddhi Prakash Jyoti, consulted with personnel and finance officials to ensure that the Diwali bonus is credited to employees’ bank accounts by November 5. It is important to note that this bonus applies only to employees covered under the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) and does not extend to executive or officer-level staff.
Employees who worked 190 days in underground mines or 240 days in open and surface mines in the previous financial year will qualify for the full bonus. For those with fewer working days, the bonus will be calculated proportionally. Eligibility for this bonus requires a minimum attendance of 30 days in the previous financial year.
On October 13, the state government also announced a 34% profit share for permanent employees as a Dussehra gift. Permanent staff received an average profit share of ₹1,53,912 each, while contract workers received ₹5,500.
Through both bonuses, Singareni management has distributed approximately ₹1,020 crore to employees. In total, workers can expect to receive around ₹2,65,000 in bonuses for both Dussehra and Diwali within the same month.
Buddhi Prakash Jyoti conveyed his Diwali wishes to the employees, advising them to use the bonus for their family needs while encouraging them to save a portion if possible. He urged everyone to work enthusiastically in the true spirit of the festive season and strive to meet the targets set for each mine and department.
