Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games Schedule to Be Finalized in April 2027
The final sports program for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics will be set during the IOCs 147th session in April 2027 in Punta Cana.

Punta Cana, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that the sports program for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games will be finalized during its 147th session in April 2027. This session is set to take place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The decision was made during a recent IOC executive board meeting held prior to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Brisbane 2032 will be the first Olympic Games to implement the IOC’s new methodology for determining the sports program, introduced under the “Fit for the Future” reforms.
This new approach aims to create a more flexible Olympic program while ensuring its relevance and sustainability. According to reports, the evaluation of sports will be based on several criteria, including athlete participation, global popularity, costs, and operational complexities.
In the next phase, the IOC executive board will recommend which existing sports will be automatically included in the Brisbane 2032 program in December 2026. They will also decide which current and potential sports will undergo comparative evaluation and which ones will be eliminated from consideration. It is anticipated that most existing sports will receive automatic recommendations for inclusion.
The IOC has stated that this new methodology was developed in collaboration with international sports federations. It aims to aid in establishing the sports program for future Olympic Games, with Brisbane 2032 serving as the first test case for this new system.
Working closely with the Brisbane 2032 organizing committee, the IOC will implement this methodology flexibly, taking into account the preparations already made by organizers and ongoing operational plans. The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 8, 2032.
Under the new Olympic hosting selection process, the IOC’s Future Host Commission designated Brisbane as its preferred candidate on February 24, 2021. This bid was officially approved during the IOC’s 138th session held in Tokyo on July 21, 2021.
