Tazeen Fatima Urges Government to Reconsider Demolition Order of Jawahar University

Rampur, August 18: Tazeen Fatima, the wife of former Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan, has called on the government to reconsider the demolition order related to Jawahar University. She emphasized that public support is growing to save the university, expressing hope for eventual justice.

In a conversation in Rampur, Fatima stated that she would appeal to the government to rethink its demolition decision in the interest of the country and its citizens. “We demand a reconsideration in the interest of the nation and the public,” she said.

Fatima pointed out that they are clearly at a disadvantage. “The government must decide if politics will continue in this manner. We hope to receive justice,” she added.

She highlighted the necessity of public support to save Jawahar University, noting that people from various backgrounds and religions have rallied against the demolition order. “The order to demolish the university is wrong. Instead of destroying educational institutions, the government should work towards their development and strengthening. Continuous efforts will be made to save Jawahar University, and public support will play a crucial role in this fight,” she asserted.

When questioned about Muslim leadership, Fatima remarked that local Muslim leaders are not given adequate opportunities. She accused some external Muslim leaders of undermining local Muslims.

Fatima also raised concerns about the treatment her family has received in politics. “There have always been differences in politics, but now there is an increasing trend of personal and ethnic animosity. The behavior directed towards us in politics has never been seen before. Previously, there was decorum and clean conduct in politics, but now there seems to be an attempt to express personal and ethnic grievances,” she stated.

Regarding her family’s current situation, Fatima mentioned that they are going through a very tough time, as both her husband and son are in jail. She alleged that they are not being treated properly in prison. Despite providing medical reports to the jail administration, they are not receiving necessary facilities. “They are being made to sleep on the ground without even a mattress. If our family had occupied people’s lands, Azam Khan would not have won elections multiple times from the same area with public support. Our family has served the public without any discrimination,” she argued.

Fatima affirmed that the Samajwadi Party stands firmly with her family and that there are no differences between them. She also mentioned that party leader Akhilesh Yadav has supported her family and their struggle.
