
Mumbai, March 17: The trend of period dramas in Indian cinema is rapidly gaining momentum. In this context, director Bharat Krishnamachari is set to release his film ‘Swayambhu,’ which has already generated significant buzz. He revealed that the story of ‘Swayambhu’ is set just before India’s golden age.
The film will depict the era when India was on the path to becoming a powerful and prosperous nation. This was a time when the country was strengthening economically and establishing its identity on the world stage.
Director Bharat Krishnamachari stated, “There was a time when India was considered one of the wealthiest and most powerful civilizations in the world. During this period, India’s economy was robust, and trade was flourishing. Notably, India was expanding its influence not just on land but also through maritime routes, moving towards becoming a naval superpower. The film will bring this early phase of history to light.”
He added, “During India’s golden age, the country excelled in various fields. At that time, Indian trade extended from Eastern nations like China to Western countries such as Rome and Greece. Additionally, India had expanded its influence to Southeast Asia. Many countries were eager to trade with India, inspired by its progress. The film will showcase this historical transformation and the emergence of power.”
In the lead role of ‘Swayambhu’ is Nikhil Siddharth, alongside Nabha Natesh and Sayantika in significant roles. The film is being produced under the banner of Pixel Studios by Bhuvan and Shrikar, with Tagore Madhu presenting it. The production is being undertaken on a grand scale.
Nikhil Siddharth has dedicated considerable effort to prepare for his role. He traveled to Vietnam for martial arts training to enhance his character. Furthermore, he has mastered the art of sword fighting and can now wield a sword with both hands.
