Surendra Kushwaha Meets Minister Ashok Chaudhary Amid Political Speculations in Bihar

Patna, March 29: Bihar’s political landscape witnessed a stir when Congress MLA Surendra Kushwaha met Minister Ashok Chaudhary on Sunday. This meeting sparked discussions in Patna’s political corridors, leading to speculations that Kushwaha may be disillusioned with his party and could switch allegiances.

However, Kushwaha clarified that the meeting was solely focused on development issues concerning his constituency. He affirmed his commitment to the Congress party and denied any intentions of changing parties. Recently, he was one of three Congress MLAs who voted against the party line during the Rajya Sabha elections, which has fueled political rumors following his meeting with Chaudhary.

In an interview, Kushwaha stated, “I met Minister Ashok Chaudhary today, and it was a formal meeting. It was not a secretive discussion held at night. My only aim was to address the fact that our assembly constituency is the most underdeveloped. My focus is solely on the development of my constituency, not on anything else.”

He added that he has raised issues regarding development projects in the assembly. “The public sends us to the assembly with their valuable votes. As representatives, it is our duty to ensure development in the areas we represent. We discussed road construction, bridges, and other developmental works for our constituency.”

When asked about the next Chief Minister of Bihar, Kushwaha stated, “How can I answer that? It is up to the NDA members to decide who will be the Chief Minister. We cannot comment on that. We are part of the Grand Alliance.”

It is noteworthy that the suspense regarding the next Chief Minister has persisted since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s victory in the Rajya Sabha elections.
