Lucknow, March 17: In response to rising concerns over the supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the administration to remain on high alert. The focus is on maintaining a smooth supply chain while keeping a close watch on black marketing and illegal sales.
From March 12 to 17, a total of 5,813 inspections and raids were carried out across the state. During this operation, 12 FIRs were filed against LPG distributors, while 74 FIRs were lodged against individuals involved in black marketing.
As a result of these actions, 11 individuals were arrested, and prosecution was initiated against 85 others. This ongoing campaign has prompted local officials to remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely.
Despite the government’s stringent measures, the supply chain remains stable. Consumers are receiving timely LPG refills from the state’s 4,108 gas distributors, who have sufficient stock of gas cylinders. Domestic LPG refills are being provided as needed.
Additionally, the Indian government has permitted an allocation of 20 percent of total consumption for commercial cylinders, aiding in market balance. A 24-hour control room has been established at the Food Commissioner’s office to oversee the distribution of petroleum products and address emerging issues promptly.
Furthermore, officials from the Food and Logistics Department have been deployed to home control centers. Control rooms at the district level have also been set up to ensure continuous monitoring of the local situation.
Under the Chief Minister’s directives, district supply officers and local administration officials are actively patrolling the field. This initiative aims to prevent any artificial shortages and ensure that consumers have timely access to essential fuels. The ongoing administrative oversight plays a crucial role in maintaining normalcy in the state’s supply chain.
