Hathras, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a statue of Lord Parshuram was vandalized in an apparent attempt to incite unrest. The incident occurred near Burj Wala Kuan in the Kotwali Nagar area, where an unidentified individual attacked the statue, damaging its axe and bow with stones. CCTV footage has emerged, capturing the act.
Reports indicate that the assailant arrived on a motorcycle and struck the statue before fleeing the scene. This attack has created a tense atmosphere in the locality.
Upon receiving the report, police promptly arrived to assess the situation. They reviewed footage from nearby CCTV cameras, which clearly shows the suspect approaching on a bike, throwing stones at the statue, and then escaping.
Taking the matter seriously, the police have formed five specialized teams to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Additionally, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and an anti-theft team have been deployed to expedite the investigation.
Ram Chand Kushwaha, the Additional Superintendent of Police in Hathras, confirmed that the statue was damaged and emphasized the police’s commitment to maintaining order in the city. He stated that efforts are underway to trace the suspect quickly, and strict legal action will be taken against him.
The police remain vigilant to ensure peace and stability in the area.
