Mathura, March 22: SSP Shlok Kumar has addressed the unrest that occurred in the Kosi Kalan area of Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. He stated that outsiders attempted to disrupt the peace by spreading false rumors. Kumar confirmed that a total of 13 individuals, including three outsiders, have been arrested in connection with the disturbances.
In an interview, SSP Kumar explained, “In the Kosi Kalan area, Chandrashekhar, also known as Baba Farsa, stopped a vehicle suspected of carrying cattle. The vehicle was a truck with a Nagaland registration. As he returned to check the truck, another truck collided with it due to fog. Baba Farsa sustained injuries and later died at the scene. The truck driver, from Alwar, Rajasthan, was also injured and was first taken to Mathura District Hospital before being referred to Agra, where he also passed away.”
Kumar noted that the truck was loaded with wires, while the other vehicle contained grocery items. He mentioned that Baba’s associate filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of an accident case at the Kosi Kalan police station.
The police official further stated, “Rumors were spread claiming that Baba Farsa was murdered. Following this, some individuals gathered in the Chhata police area and blocked the national highway. Some unruly elements engaged in stone-pelting. Serious charges have been filed in connection with this incident, and 13 arrests have been made so far.”
He added, “An outsider initiated the rumors and attempted to create unrest. A separate case has been filed against him and his three accomplices, who have also been arrested. Local residents tried to explain to the outsiders that they should leave, clarifying that the situation was clear. Despite this, the accused continued to spread rumors and obstruct government operations.”
SSP Kumar urged the public, “Do not share or post any information on social media without verifying facts. Ensure that any posts are based on accurate information.” He also mentioned that precautionary measures have been implemented, with magistrates and police officers patrolling the area regularly.
