SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026: Applications Open for 731 Positions, Deadline May 15

New Delhi, April 25: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the recruitment of 731 temporary positions for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ under the Stenographer Examination 2026. Eligible and interested candidates are invited to apply for these vacancies across various departments.

The online application process commenced on Friday, April 24, and the last date to apply is set for May 15. Candidates wishing to fill out the application form can register on the official website until the deadline. Additionally, the last date for submitting the application fee is May 16. A correction window for candidates who make errors while filling out the application will be open from May 20 to May 21.

Applicants must have completed their 12th grade or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university. Candidates are also required to meet other specified eligibility criteria, skills, and experience requirements.

The minimum age for candidates is set at 18 years, with the maximum age varying between 27 to 30 years depending on the position grade. This age calculation will be based on August 1. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government rules.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), a stenography skill test, document verification, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹1,42,400, along with additional benefits and allowances. The CBT is expected to be conducted between July and August.

While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the specified application fee online according to their category. The fee is set at ₹100 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates. Women, SC, ST, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the registration fee.

To apply online, candidates should first visit the official SSC website. After reaching the homepage, they should click on the active application link for the relevant position. They will then need to register and log in. All required information must be filled out in the form, and documents should be uploaded in the correct size. After paying the registration fee, candidates should submit the form and keep a printed copy for future reference.
