SP Leader ST Hasan Backs Strong Enforcement of Existing Cow Protection Laws

Moradabad: Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan has expressed support for Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand’s demand to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to declare the cow as Rajmata (state mother) in Uttar Pradesh. Hasan said there is no objection to granting such a status to the cow.

In an interaction in Moradabad, Hasan emphasized that strict laws for cow protection already exist and are being implemented effectively. He noted that these laws were enforced during Akhilesh Yadav’s government and continue to be in force today. He added that encounters have been carried out against those involved in cow slaughter. Hasan stressed the importance of proper and stringent enforcement of these laws.

Regarding India’s position as a leading exporter of beef and meat, Hasan remarked that if cow protection is a serious concern, such exports should also be stopped. He affirmed his party’s full support for the Shankaracharya’s stance, highlighting that this is a matter of faith and that they respect the religious sentiments of their Hindu brothers while also extending respect as Muslims.

Addressing the recent film The Kerala Files 2, Hasan observed that earlier films brought society together by teaching respect between generations, promoting brotherhood and friendship. However, he lamented that films have now become political, creating divisions along Hindu-Muslim lines and attempting to split society.

He described these issues as political and urged the nation to understand that in the 21st century, when a girl chooses her partner, she should not have to consider caste or religion. Hasan pointed out that societal and extremist pressures often leave young people feeling trapped and helpless, leading to accusations of “love jihad.”
