Sonali Bendre Opens Up About Her Dance Fears on Koun Banega Crorepati

Actress Sonali Bendre shares her enduring fear of dancing during an appearance on Koun Banega Crorepati with Madhuri Dixit.

Mumbai, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Sonali Bendre recently made an appearance on the grand premiere of Madhuri Dixit’s quiz reality show “Koun Banega Crorepati.” During the episode, she revealed a surprising detail about her long-standing fear of dancing.

Despite her years in the industry, Bendre admitted that she still feels anxious about dancing. While chatting with Dixit, the legendary actress praised Bendre’s performance in the hit song “Hamma Hamma.” In a light-hearted moment, Bendre responded, “Look who’s saying that! I request my KBC team to please send me the clip where Madhuri ji is praising my dance.”

Dixit asked Bendre, “You were afraid of dancing, right? I heard you even had nightmares about it. How did you overcome that fear?” Bendre candidly replied, “I still haven’t gotten over that fear. I have actually stopped dancing.” To which Dixit responded, “But you danced so beautifully in ‘Hamma Hamma’!” Bendre humorously replied, “I don’t know how I managed that.”

The song “Hamma Hamma,” from the 1995 blockbuster film “Bombay,” featured Bendre in a memorable cameo. Sung by Remo Fernandes and Sukhwinder Singh, with music by A.R. Rahman, the track showcased her talent and helped her gain significant recognition. Alongside her, Nagendra Prasad, brother of choreographer Prabhu Deva, also performed in the song.

In addition to her iconic performance in “Hamma Hamma,” Bendre has appeared in several other popular musical numbers, including the beloved Marathi film song “Cham Cham Karta.” Even two decades later, her dance and music continue to resonate with fans.
