Kolkata, August 26: A mysterious body was discovered on Wednesday between a railway line and a national highway in the Ranisarai area of Belda, West Medinipur, West Bengal, causing a stir among local residents. Authorities suspect that the body may have been dumped after a murder.
Upon receiving the report, teams from the railway police and Belda police station rushed to the scene. The police have initiated an investigation and cordoned off the area where the body was found. Siddharth Singh Dangi, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer from Kharagpur, also arrived at the location to oversee the investigation. As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unknown, and efforts are underway to establish it.
Meanwhile, a forensic team has arrived to collect samples from the scene. The police dogs and forensic experts are examining the area and interviewing local residents for more information.
In a related incident on the same day, a shocking murder occurred in Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand. During a domestic dispute, a man brutally killed his six-month-old son by throwing him onto the floor. The police acted swiftly, arresting the father and sending him to jail.
Reports indicate that a family dispute arose between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in the Lupung village of the Katkamsandi police station area. During the altercation, the accused, Akash Kumar, became enraged and violently threw his sleeping infant son, Ansh Kumar, onto a concrete floor near a well behind their house.
The infant sustained severe head injuries and began bleeding profusely. Allegedly, after the incident, the child’s mother, Nirali Kumari, pleaded with her husband to take their son to the hospital, but he refused.
Desperate, the mother took the child to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital in Hazaribagh. After initial treatment, doctors referred the child to RIMS, Ranchi, for advanced care due to his critical condition. Tragically, the infant passed away en route to the hospital.
