Shivraj Singh Chouhan Criticizes Rahul Gandhi, Claims Opposition Spreading Lies After Electoral Defeats
Shivraj Singh Chouhan accuses Rahul Gandhi of spreading misinformation as the opposition struggles post-election losses during a recent event.

Bhopal, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday, accusing him of spreading lies and rumors to incite the public following a series of electoral defeats. Speaking at the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ event in Bhopal, which celebrated the 150th anniversary of the national anthem “Vande Mataram,” Chouhan asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys strong public support, while the opposition has failed to regain the people’s trust.
Chouhan stated that Rahul Gandhi lacks the capability to win elections, emphasizing that Modi holds a special place in the hearts of the citizens. He noted that the opposition has been rejected by the public multiple times, both before and after the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process.
The former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh claimed that the opposition, believing it cannot win elections, is attempting to create unrest through misinformation. He expressed confidence that such efforts would not succeed, and that voters would reject those resorting to “negative politics.”
These comments from Chouhan came amid criticism from the opposition regarding the Election Commission’s process of updating the electoral rolls. Concerns have been raised about the removal of names from the voter list and the transparency of the electoral process, with the voter list revision (SIR) becoming a contentious political issue.
During the event, Chouhan also spoke about India’s rich cultural heritage and historical traditions. He highlighted that the country’s written history spans over 5,000 years, emphasizing the significance of the Vedas in ancient Indian civilization, which predated the rise of civilization in many developed countries.
Chouhan interacted with young participants from various states and participated in a tree-planting campaign at Bhopal’s Smart City Park, organized in honor of the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram.” The event brought together youth from across the country to engage in activities and discussions celebrating the anthem’s milestone.
