Severed Head Found at Bengaluru Cricket Ground Sparks Investigation

Bengaluru, July 29: A shocking discovery was made on Wednesday morning in the Kodathi area of Bengaluru, Karnataka, where a severed human head was found at a local cricket ground. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting the police to register a case and launch an investigation.

According to police reports, a group of boys arrived at the cricket field to play when they stumbled upon the gruesome sight of a severed head. Alarmed, they immediately notified the Varthur police.

Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the scene for an initial inspection. However, the rest of the victim’s body remains unaccounted for. Authorities are conducting a thorough search of the surrounding area.

During the investigation, police discovered tire marks from a two-wheeler near the crime scene. Initial suspicions suggest that someone may have transported the severed head on a motorcycle and discarded it at the location. Based on this lead, police are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to uncover the truth behind the incident.

Currently, the Varthur police are interviewing local residents and gathering preliminary information related to the case. The identity of the victim has not yet been established, nor has the motive for the murder been clarified.

This horrifying event has created an atmosphere of fear in the area. Local residents are in shock, while police are diligently investigating every aspect of the case.

A similar chilling incident occurred on August 10, 2025, in the Koratagere village of Tumakuru district, where a woman’s severed head and body parts were found in plastic bags along the roadside. Witnesses first spotted the bags on August 7, leading to a police search that uncovered additional remains the following day. The victim was identified as 42-year-old Lakshmidevamma. Investigations revealed that the accused had discarded the body parts in various locations after a family dispute, leading to the arrests of her son-in-law and a local dentist.
