Puri, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : On September 27, 2026, renowned international sand artist Manas Kumar Sahu marked World Tourism Day in Puri, Odisha, with a captivating sand animation that emphasized the fusion of tourism and technology. The theme for this year’s World Tourism Day, “Transforming Tourism with a Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence,” underscores the vital role digital technology and AI play in shaping the future of tourism.
Sahu crafted this unique sand animation in his studio, beautifully illustrating the importance of tourism, culture, heritage, and technological innovation. Speaking about the event, he stated, “Today in Puri, we presented a sand animation for World Tourism Day. This year’s theme focuses on the digital agenda and AI in transforming tourism, and our creation reflects that theme.”
He further highlighted Puri’s status as a major tourist hub, attracting millions of visitors from around the globe. Sahu noted, “Tourists travel to explore various parts of the world, providing significant economic benefits to those regions.
