Sambit Patra Critiques Congress During Visit to Kashi, Questions SIR Claims
BJP MP Sambit Patra addresses Congresss claims and discusses SIR issues during his visit to Varanasi, emphasizing the significance of the region.

Varanasi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : BJP Member of Parliament Sambit Patra visited Varanasi on November 2, expressing pride in being on the sacred land associated with Lord Shiva. He emphasized the significance of Kashi, stating, “This is no ordinary place; every particle here symbolizes Mahadev.”
During a press interaction, Patra addressed the atmosphere surrounding the Systematic Identification of Residents (SIR) issue. He accused opponents of creating a misleading narrative aimed at regime change. “This is the 12th SIR; ten were conducted during the Congress regime, and two under our government. If SIRs were acceptable then, why is it a problem now?” he questioned.
Patra also responded to Rahul Gandhi‘s allegations that 130 million votes had been stolen. “If that were true, the streets would be filled with protests,” he asserted, defending the integrity of the electoral process. He suggested that Congress’s loss of power was due to its own actions, not the SIR.
He continued, “The chaos they want to create is evident. Just yesterday at Ramleela Maidan, they claimed 1 million would attend, but only about 20,000 showed up. The venue was half empty, just like their SIR claims, which are often exaggerated.”
Patra’s comments reflect ongoing tensions in Indian politics, as parties navigate accusations and public sentiment leading up to future elections.
