
Noida, March 9: As March unfolds, the heat is intensifying in the Delhi-NCR region. According to the meteorological department’s forecast, maximum temperatures could reach between 37 to 38 degrees Celsius in the coming days, while minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 17 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Partial cloud cover is anticipated, but no weather warnings have been issued at this time. On March 9, the maximum temperature is predicted to be 37 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 17 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels during the day may reach around 35 percent, while morning humidity could be as high as 85 percent. Similarly, on March 10, the maximum temperature is expected to be 37 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius, and humidity levels may vary between 40 to 90 percent. On March 11, temperatures could peak at 38 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius.
The forecast indicates that partial cloud cover will persist. Alongside the rising heat, air pollution is becoming a growing concern for residents. Many areas in Delhi have recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) in the poor category. Notable readings include an AQI of 243 in Alipur, 239 in Anand Vihar, 233 in Ashok Vihar, and 273 in Bawana. Other areas such as Chandni Chowk reported an AQI of 217, Commonwealth Sports Complex at 215, and Burari Crossing at 204. Meanwhile, Ayanagar and the Cantonment area recorded AQIs of 178 and 177, respectively, which are close to the moderate range.
In Noida and Greater Noida, air quality remains concerning. Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-3 recorded an AQI of 226, while Knowledge Park-5 reached 305, categorizing it as ‘very poor.’ In Noida, Sector 125 had an AQI of 223, Sector 1 at 243, and Sector 116 at 232, with Sector 62 recording 176.
Ghaziabad is also witnessing rising pollution levels, with an AQI of 242 in Indirapuram, 303 in Loni, 266 in Sanjay Nagar, and 226 in Vasundhara. Experts suggest that the combination of changing weather and strong sunlight may lead to increased heat in the coming days.
The meteorological department currently predicts no chances of rain. Due to the intense sunlight and rising temperatures, residents may face extreme heat in the upcoming days. Experts advise avoiding unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours, staying hydrated, and taking precautions against pollution.
