Rice Procurement to Begin in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from November 1
Rice procurement in Eastern Uttar Pradesh will start on November 1, with increased minimum support prices for farmers.

Lucknow, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Rice procurement for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 is set to commence in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on November 1 and will continue until February 28, 2027. The central government has also announced an increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for rice this year. The MSP for common rice is fixed at ₹2,441 per quintal, while for grade A rice, it is set at ₹2,461 per quintal.
In light of weather conditions, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that all necessary arrangements be made at procurement centers to ensure farmers face no difficulties. Last year, Uttar Pradesh achieved a record procurement of 6.2 million metric tons of rice, and this year, the target has been raised. A total of 6.5 million metric tons is expected to be procured through 4,500 centers operated by eight procurement agencies. As of Friday, 4,195 centers have already been opened.
CM Yogi has directed that payments to farmers be processed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) within 48 hours. To eliminate the role of intermediaries, the entire system has been moved online. Additionally, farmers will receive an extra ₹20 per quintal for the processes of unloading, cleaning, and sorting their rice. The Chief Minister emphasized that farmers should not encounter any issues when visiting procurement centers. Adequate provisions for shade, water, and seating must be arranged promptly, considering the weather.
Rice procurement will begin in various divisions of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj. The procurement will also take place in the Lucknow division, which includes Lucknow, Raebareli, and Unnao, starting from November 1 and continuing until February 28, 2027. So far, over 38,000 farmers have registered for the procurement, reflecting their trust in the government’s rice procurement policy.
Farmers who have not yet registered or renewed their registrations for rice sales can do so at fca.up.gov.in or through UP Kisan Mitra. If any issues arise during the rice sale process, farmers can report them at the toll-free number 1800 180 0150, where officials will ensure resolution.
