Azad Samaj Party Prepares Strongly for Upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections
Chandrashekhar Azad asserts the Azad Samaj Party is ready for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, focusing on key issues and reforms.

Lucknow, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Chandrashekhar Azad, the national president of the Azad Samaj Party and MP from Nagina, recently addressed several pressing issues regarding the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Speaking in Lucknow, he emphasized that the party is fully prepared to contest the elections with strength, having laid the groundwork over the past four and a half years.
During a conference for lawyers, Azad acknowledged the longstanding demands of the legal community, which have often been ignored by previous governments. He assured attendees that their concerns would be heard and that actionable steps would be taken to address issues such as safety, increased limits for cashless medical treatment, higher compensation for accidents, and pension schemes for retired lawyers. Additionally, he stressed the importance of enhancing the participation of marginalized communities in the judiciary.
Turning to the current political climate, Azad criticized the ruling BJP government, suggesting that the public is ready for change. He pointed out the discontent among various groups, including teachers and healthcare workers, who have been protesting for their rights at Eco Garden, a local venue. According to Azad, these demonstrations reflect the true state of governance under the BJP.
Commenting on the recent results of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections, Azad noted that while the elections were conducted well, there were significant flaws in the voter list. He called for improvements to the electoral process, advocating for the use of ballot papers in future elections, including the 2027 Assembly elections.
In a challenge to the BJP, Azad referenced Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s call for ballot paper elections, questioning why the ruling party would hesitate if it truly believed in its popularity. He also highlighted unfulfilled promises made to the family of the Hathras incident, asserting that the public will hold the BJP accountable in upcoming elections.
Azad praised the students of Jamia Millia Islamia for their efforts in reviving the student union elections, noting that their struggle opened the door for democratic processes. He urged similar elections to be reinstated in other institutions across Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing new regulations for government jobs in the state, Azad criticized the government for attempting to suppress dissent through legal means. He argued that the BJP, once a champion of protests while in opposition, is now silencing the voices of the youth and unemployed. He predicted that voters would respond decisively in 2027.
Looking ahead to the India Alliance rally scheduled for November 1 at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi, Azad remarked on the growing skepticism among the public regarding the electoral process, particularly concerning the conduct of election commissioners. He stressed that democracy relies on public trust, and when that trust erodes, it may be time for leaders to resign.
In conclusion, Azad reaffirmed that the Azad Samaj Party is ready to contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections with full force, having been engaged in continuous electoral preparations since 2022.
