Mumbai, April 15: REDMI has begun teasing its upcoming tablet, the K Pad 2, targeting performance-oriented users. Dubbed a “performance flagship,” this device aims to distinguish itself, particularly in gaming.
At its core is the Dimensity 9500 processor, complemented by a 15300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. REDMI has implemented a centered chip layout to enhance heat distribution during prolonged use. This design aims to ensure stable performance without rapid throttling.
The display is another highlight, featuring an 8.8-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. REDMI claims it is specifically optimized for gaming, though real-world performance remains to be seen. The tablet houses a substantial 9100mAh battery, promising extended usage, especially given its size.
Aesthetically, the K Pad 2 boasts a premium metal unibody design, available in several colors, including purple, silver, and black. While not groundbreaking, its clean look is appealing.
In terms of gaming capabilities, REDMI asserts support for 165fps gameplay in select titles, along with a 540Hz touch sampling rate. Additionally, it features a high-frequency gyroscope to enhance responsiveness in fast-paced gaming scenarios.
For audio, the tablet is equipped with dual full-range drivers within a 2.0cc “super-large” sound cavity, engineered to deliver richer bass, clearer treble, and enhanced detail. Notably, it is marketed as the first tablet tuned by Sound by Bose.
The K Pad 2 is scheduled for launch on April 21, 2026, alongside the Redmi K90 Max and the Redmi Book Pro 2026.
