Mumbai, April 20: The upcoming Realme C81 has begun to surface in early leaks. Recent reports indicate that the phone, identified by the model number RMX5388, may feature 4GB of RAM, with storage options of either 64GB or 128GB. It is expected to be available in two color variants: Storm Black and Glacier Blue, as suggested by what appears to be an internal listing screenshot.
Interestingly, the model number aligns with the recently launched Realme Note 80, raising speculation that the C81 might not be a completely new device. Instead, it could be a rebranded version of the Note 80 for various markets. Realme has a history of such practices, making this possibility plausible.
If this speculation holds true, the specifications are largely known. The phone is anticipated to sport a 6.74-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The brightness is expected to be around 450 nits, which should suffice for indoor use and be manageable outdoors.
Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset. This 4G chip is designed for basic everyday tasks such as browsing, calling, messaging, and light social media, with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness.
The camera setup appears to be quite basic. The rear is expected to feature an 8MP sensor, while the front will have a 5MP camera. While these specifications may not seem impressive on paper, they should be adequate for casual photography and video calls.
The C81 is rumored to be equipped with a 6,300mAh battery, supporting 15W charging and reverse wired charging. This battery capacity should easily last a full day, and potentially longer depending on usage.
Overall, the Realme C81 is shaping up to be a straightforward budget smartphone. If it is indeed a rebranded version of the Note 80, the focus seems to be on expanding availability rather than introducing new features.
While the launch date remains unconfirmed, the appearance of listings suggests that it may not be far off. Pricing will be crucial in this segment, as always.
