Lucknow, August 1: BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi has launched a strong attack on the opposition regarding the Ram Temple controversy, the politics of the Samajwadi Party, and alleged offensive comments about Hindu deities. He stated that the BJP government is focused on national interests, student welfare, and development, while the opposition is merely trying to create disputes for political gain.
Regarding the Ram Temple issue, Tripathi mentioned that any incident related to donations is under investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Uttar Pradesh government, following directives from the Supreme Court and requests from the trust. The Supreme Court is also closely monitoring the situation. He accused certain individuals of raising this issue for political benefit, pointing out that those who previously attempted to obstruct temple construction are now expressing concern for the Ram Temple. He assured that the temple is secure in the hands of its devotees.
Tripathi criticized the Samajwadi Party, claiming it has become limited to poster and publicity politics. He asserted that the party lacks the strength and workers to connect with the public. Merely putting up posters does not garner public support; genuine engagement with the community is essential for building trust. However, he noted that the Samajwadi Party has failed in this regard.
Responding to the controversial remarks made by Maulana Jargis about Lord Shiva, Tripathi expressed strong disapproval. He alleged that there is a conspiracy to disrupt the communal harmony in the state in light of the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. He deemed it unfortunate to make such comments about Lord Shiva during the sacred month of Sawan and called for strict action against the Maulana under the National Security Act (NSA) to send a strong message to those attempting to disturb communal peace.
Supporting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s public outreach campaign and anti-mafia actions, Tripathi stated that CM Yogi has become an accepted leader at the national level and is invited to campaign in various states. In areas like Ghazipur, once dominated by mafia influence, a new picture of development is emerging. The Yogi government has eradicated mafia rule and established a model of development and good governance.
He emphasized that Yogi Adityanath is a full-time public leader who engages directly with citizens while managing administrative responsibilities. He has also broken political beliefs associated with Noida and inaugurated development projects across the state.
Regarding the objections raised by over 200 academics to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s comments in the Lok Sabha, Tripathi stated that she made such remarks under the guise of religious appeasement, disrespecting esteemed scientists and educators like IIT Madras Director B. Kamakoti. The written objections from academics indicate that the intellectual class of society does not agree with her statement, which could politically harm the Congress party.
Welcoming the Anti-Paper Leak Bill, he stated that Prime Minister Modi has fulfilled his promise to students. He noted that the government has sent a clear message that there will be no compromise on students’ futures. With the new law in place, strict action will be taken against organized gangs and mafias involved in paper leaks. Provisions for swift resolution of such cases through fast-track courts will ensure timely justice for the guilty. Tripathi described this as a significant step towards protecting students’ interests and ensuring transparency in the examination system.
