Rajnath Singh Promises to End Rule of Thugs in West Bengal if BJP Wins

Kolkata, April 20: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Monday that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, it will put an end to the reign of thugs in the state.

While addressing an election rally in the Birbhum district’s Santhia, Singh launched a fierce attack on the state government. He emphasized that the state government had ample opportunities for development. There was a time when investors were eager to invest in West Bengal, but the actions of these thugs have tarnished the state’s reputation. Singh assured that if the BJP is elected, it is determined to eradicate the rule of thugs.

He remarked that no one can deny the extent of corruption that has spread in West Bengal during the 15 years of Trinamool Congress rule.

Rajnath Singh urged the public to decide whether they want to continue living under the fear and terror imposed by the current regime or seek relief from it. He stated that if the BJP is brought to power, thugs will either flee or end up behind bars.

The central minister also mentioned that the women of West Bengal would teach the Trinamool Congress a lesson for conspiring with other political parties to block the Women’s Reservation (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha.

Singh highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed to provide reservations for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, and this will certainly happen in the future. He criticized the opposition parties, including Trinamool, Congress, Samajwadi Party, and DMK, for opposing this initiative. He expressed confidence that women in West Bengal would hold the Trinamool Congress accountable in this election.

After participating in various electoral programs across West Bengal, Singh noted that the people of the state desire a BJP-led government this time. He asserted that they would form a government with a full majority. For the past 15 years, an atmosphere of fear and terror has prevailed in West Bengal.

The central minister pointed out that the people of Bengal have given the Trinamool government 15 years. This duration was sufficient for development. He compared West Bengal’s economic contribution to the national economy, which has dropped from 10 percent to below 5 percent, emphasizing the urgent need for change in the state.
