Rajeev Chandrasekhar Criticizes Congress, Claims Flattery is Key to Success

Thiruvananthapuram, March 19: Kerala BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Thursday. He stated that to succeed within Congress, one must engage in “flattery,” making it impossible to maintain self-respect.

In a conversation with reporters, he remarked, “To be successful in Congress, you have to be sycophantic. It is contradictory to remain in Congress while preserving self-esteem.”

Chandrasekhar accused Congress of narrowing its focus to a single family, lacking a clear ideology or a shared vision for the country or the state. He noted that this has led many senior leaders to leave the party in disappointment.

He further claimed that Congress leadership prioritizes how close a leader is to Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, and how much flattery they offer him.

The Kerala BJP president emphasized, “People want to work with their self-respect intact, which is why they are joining the BJP-NDA.”

Chandrasekhar will contest the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections from the Nemom seat in Thiruvananthapuram district. Voting for the 140-member assembly will take place on April 9, with results announced on May 4.

In response to reports of Congress fielding former MLA K.S. Sabari Nathan against him, he stated that everyone has the right to contest elections and expressed hope for a strong and mature competition.

He concluded by asserting that this election is not about individuals but a contest of ideas and development.

Notably, the BJP currently has no representation in the Kerala Assembly. The party had achieved a historic victory in the Nemom seat in 2016, but subsequently lost it.
