Rajasthan SOG Busts Recruitment Exam Fraud, Arrests Fugitive Accused

Jaipur, March 31: The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has cracked down on a gang involved in recruitment exam fraud. This gang was known for using dummy candidates. The SOG has arrested a key accused who had been on the run for nearly two years. A reward of ₹10,000 was announced for information leading to his capture.

The arrested individual, Sunil Bishnoi, had been evading authorities since 2023, prompting SOG teams to conduct continuous raids in search of him. According to SOG Additional Director General Vishal Bansal, this case is linked to the RPSC Senior Teacher (Secondary Education) Grade-2 competitive exam of 2022. Originally scheduled for December 24, 2022, the exam was canceled on the same day due to a leak of the general knowledge paper and was rescheduled for January 29, 2023. Investigations revealed that the actual candidate, Sampatlal Mali, did not appear for either exam. Instead, two dummy candidates took the test in his place.

On January 29, 2023, Sunil Bishnoi impersonated the actual candidate during the general knowledge and educational psychology papers at the Government Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School in Udaipur’s Chetak Circle. The second dummy candidate, who sat for the science paper, remains at large, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. Authorities believe that questioning Bishnoi could provide crucial leads about a larger network of intermediaries involved in this racket.

Despite the fraud, Sampatlal Mali was temporarily selected for the Senior Teacher Grade-2 (Science) position. However, his appointment was halted after a complaint was filed at the RPSC headquarters in Ajmer. Mali had been arrested earlier on January 13.

Bishnoi has been charged under relevant sections of the IPC and the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2022. The investigation is being led by Prakash Kumar Sharma.

The SOG is now expanding its investigation to identify other dummy candidates, intermediaries, and individuals involved in this extensive recruitment fraud network.
