The central government has sanctioned ₹239.40 crore to enhance road safety in Jharkhands Chutupaloo and Charhi valleys, addressing accident-prone areas.

Ranchi, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : The central government has approved a ₹239.40 crore project aimed at improving road safety in the accident-prone areas of Chutupaloo and Charhi valleys in Jharkhand. Sanjay Seth, the Minister of State for Defence and a member of parliament from Ranchi, announced the approval on Thursday. This initiative was taken under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
The project will involve the enhancement of 5.99 kilometers of road along National Highway 33 (new NH-20) in the Chutupaloo and Charhi valley regions. It will include necessary safety measures at locations identified as black spots, where frequent road accidents have raised concerns.
Seth expressed hope that this new project would significantly reduce road accidents in these valleys and ensure safer travel for commuters. He emphasized that he had raised the issue with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways due to the persistent problem of accidents in the area. Following a survey conducted by the ministry, the project received the green light.
He extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for their support. Seth noted that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the development of road infrastructure is being prioritized alongside road safety.
The winding and hilly routes of Chutupaloo and Charhi valleys pose ongoing risks for accidents. Therefore, improving black spots and strengthening safety measures are seen as critical steps toward reducing road incidents. However, details regarding the specific timeline for the commencement of the project and its detailed outline have not yet been disclosed.
