Rahul Gandhi Faces Backlash Over Mockery of Hindu Traditions: BJPs Sanjay Sarawagi Demands Apology

Patna, August 2: Sanjay Sarawagi, the Bihar BJP state president, has responded to the opposition protests in Parliament regarding the alleged theft of donations for the Ram Temple. He accused Rahul Gandhi and Pappu Yadav, the MP from Purnia, of mocking Sanatan culture, Hindu traditions, and saints during the demonstrations, which he claims the people of the country will not tolerate.

Sarawagi stated that the way Gandhi, Yadav, and other opposition leaders conducted their protest in Parliament has hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus. He emphasized that ridiculing Sanatan culture and saints is an insult to India’s cultural heritage. Saints have long been symbols of Indian culture and spirituality, and such mockery is unacceptable under any circumstances.

He noted that this incident has been witnessed by people across the country, leading to significant public outrage. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha has also taken this matter seriously. Sarawagi demanded that Rahul Gandhi publicly apologize, warning that if he fails to do so, he will face opposition from the public wherever he goes. He asserted that the people of India will not tolerate any disrespect towards their religious and cultural beliefs.

Additionally, Sarawagi questioned Gandhi’s stance on the Delimitation Bill. He mentioned that there were initial concerns in some southern states about a potential reduction in their Lok Sabha seats after delimitation. However, he pointed out that the central government clarified in Parliament that no state would be treated unfairly and that all states’ interests would be considered. Sarawagi remarked that now that southern states feel assured of balanced treatment, Gandhi is changing his position. He believes such political maneuvers will have no impact, as delimitation is necessary for the country and essential for expanding Lok Sabha seats in line with the growing population.

Welcoming the central government’s financial assistance for Bihar’s development, Sarawagi noted that the center has allocated ₹10,845 crores for development projects in the state, the second-largest amount in the country. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the central government has consistently prioritized Bihar’s development. This financial aid will accelerate infrastructure, development plans, and welfare projects in the state.

In response to a recent terrorist incident in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP state president condemned the act. He described it as inhumane and deplorable to shoot someone after asking for their name. He reported that one person died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment. Sarawagi expressed confidence that the central government would take strict action against the perpetrators.

He also criticized comments made by National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah on this issue, stating that such remarks send the wrong message. Sarawagi claimed that under Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership, there has been effective control over terrorist activities in the country. He highlighted that during Operation Sindoor, Indian security forces targeted and dismantled terrorist bases within Pakistan, leading to a significant reduction in terrorist incidents in major cities. However, he acknowledged that the recent incident in Jammu and Kashmir is very serious, and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
