Lucknow, August 2: An FIR has been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, independent MP Pappu Yadav, and SP MP Awadhesh Prasad for their symbolic protest outside Parliament regarding donations for the Ram Temple. They are accused of insulting Sanatan Dharma and hurting religious sentiments. Following this action, SP legislators have expressed strong reactions.
SP MLA Ankit Bharti stated, “We are continuously observing how the current government divides people in the name of religion. Their definition of religion is different. Anyone who raises their voice against the government will face actions from the CBI, ED, and FIRs. The opposition is strong and is not intimidated by their hollow statements. Today, we continue to raise our voices firmly and will do so in the future.”
SP MLA Ram Avatar Saini remarked, “This is a one-sided action.”
MLA Mukesh Verma also raised questions related to the Ram Temple. He said, “The truth is that they will file cases against everyone in the country, including women, children, and youth. They are acting out of fear and desperation. Who built the temple? Who formed the temple trust? Who selected the trust members? Who hoisted the temple flag? Who inaugurated the temple? Why was there no OBC member involved?”
SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra added, “The BJP government is trying to suppress the voices of the public and the opposition by filing false cases against opposition leaders out of hatred and revenge. There has been a theft of thousands of crores in the Ram Temple.”
It is noteworthy that the FIR against Rahul Gandhi, Pappu Yadav, and Awadhesh Prasad stems from their protest against the Ram Temple donation issue outside Parliament. SP leaders claim that the government is afraid of criticism and is taking such actions to silence the opposition.
