October 21, 2025 (Daily Kiran): The Kochi Blue Spikers concluded their campaign in the RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League powered by Scapia with an impressive 3-1 victory over Ahmedabad Defenders. Kochi clinched the match with set scores of 15-13, 14-16, 17-15, and 15-9. Erin Varghese was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Ahmedabad started strong, taking the early lead through Battur Batsuri’s powerful serves and attacks. However, Kochi’s Jasjodh Singh responded with brilliant serves and blocks to level the score. Strong defensive play from Amrinderpal Singh helped Kochi secure the opening set.
In the second set, Erin’s sharp serves and tactical changes by Ahmedabad’s Nandgopal and Akhil brought the match to parity. But the momentum swung back to Kochi in the third set, with Nicolas Marechal and Jasjodh delivering quick spikes to regain control. Hemant and Amrinderpal’s precise attacks, along with libero Alan Aashiq’s solid defense, earned crucial points for the team.
The fourth set saw Kochi maintain consistent pressure, capitalizing on Arshak Sinan’s service error to seal the win. With this result, Kochi Blue Spikers bowed out of the tournament on a high note, while Ahmedabad Defenders, who had already qualified, will proceed to the semifinals.
