Punjab Police Foils Terror Plot in Bathinda, Arrests Two with Hand Grenades

Bathinda, March 18: Punjab Police has achieved a significant success by thwarting a serious terrorist threat through its Counter Intelligence Wing. According to the Punjab DGP, two suspects have been arrested, and two hand grenades were seized from their possession.

Information regarding this operation was posted on the official X handle of the Punjab DGP. Preliminary investigations revealed that these grenades are part of an illegal supply chain linked to elements across the border. The main objective was to disrupt peace in Punjab and endanger public safety. The smuggling and distribution of such weapons aimed to incite unrest in the state, which was intercepted in time.

An FIR has been registered in the Punjab State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) regarding this case. The police have initiated further investigations to trace the entire supply chain of the grenades, identify contacts, accomplices, and potential targets. Technical and human intelligence is being utilized in the investigation to expose the entire module.

In an official statement, Punjab Police affirmed its commitment to eliminate terrorist threats, eradicate organized crime, and ensure peace and public safety throughout the state. Under the leadership of DGP Gaurav Yadav, Punjab Police is continuously monitoring such plots and taking strict action against activities inspired from across the border.

In recent months, several incidents have emerged in Punjab where counter-intelligence has successfully dismantled terrorist modules. This operation in Bathinda was based on intelligence inputs, showcasing the police’s vigilance and coordination.

This success has further strengthened Punjab Police. The state government and security agencies are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. As the investigation progresses, more revelations are expected, potentially uncovering larger links within the terrorist network.
