Punjab Police Arrests Key Suspect Gurdeep Singh in Tarn Taran Murder Case

Punjab Police have arrested Gurdeep Singh, the main suspect in a murder case from Tarn Taran, following a coordinated operation with Haryana authorities.

Chandigarh, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough in a murder investigation by apprehending Gurdeep Singh, the main suspect in the case from Tarn Taran. The arrest took place during a joint operation conducted by Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF).

Gurdeep Singh was wanted for the murder of Ajmeet Singh, which occurred in September 2026 in Naushera Pannuan, Tarn Taran district. The Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab shared details of the operation on social media platform X, highlighting that the arrest was made based on reliable intelligence.

The coordinated effort between the police forces of Punjab and Haryana led to the suspect’s capture in Nuh district, Haryana. Prior to this, the Anti-Gangster Task Force had also arrested another suspect, Sajanpreet Singh, in connection with the same case.

Officials noted that the successful operation was facilitated by improved coordination and intelligence sharing between the two states’ police departments. Initial investigations suggest that Ajmeet Singh’s murder was allegedly orchestrated by fugitive gangsters abroad, including Prabh Dassuwal and Doni Bal. Authorities suspect that gang rivalries may have played a role in the incident.

However, the full motives behind the murder and the involvement of the suspects will be confirmed through further investigations. The police are also looking into the roles of other individuals linked to the criminal network.

According to Punjab Police, they have uncovered the module associated with this case. Investigative agencies are now focused on tracing the suspects’ connections, the conspiracy surrounding the incident, and identifying additional individuals involved. The police have emphasized their priority to dismantle active gangster networks in the state, ensuring the safety of citizens and bringing criminals to justice. The campaign against organized crime will continue.
