Punjab Drug Crisis: AAP Government Under Fire from Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticizes AAPs handling of Punjabs drug crisis, claiming the government protects drug mafia and fails to ensure safety for activists.

New Delhi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over the escalating drug crisis and law enforcement issues in Punjab. He accused the state administration of providing protection to drug traffickers while failing to safeguard those who speak out against substance abuse.
His comments come just two days after the murder of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa, followed by the killing of 40-year-old Bikramjeet Singh in Gurudaspur. These incidents have raised serious concerns regarding the state of law and order in Punjab.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Sirsa claimed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ally, Bhagwant Mann, have effectively surrendered Punjab to drug lords. He described the region, once known for its brave inhabitants, as now being overrun by narcotics and syringes.
Sirsa highlighted the brutal daytime murders of activists like Jhota and Singh, as well as the tragic circumstances forcing desperate parents in Dirba to take their own lives due to political pressure. These events, he argued, illustrate a complete breakdown of law and order under the current AAP regime.
He further asserted that when those who oppose the drug trade are silenced without any protection, it becomes evident that the drug mafia enjoys direct support from AAP legislators and leadership.
According to Sirsa, Punjab does not need hollow public relations stunts or false promises from Kejriwal. The local populace demands accountability for every drop of blood spilled in this ongoing crisis.
He concluded with a call to action, reiterating Home Minister Amit Shah’s pledge that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can dismantle this criminal nexus, eradicate the drug mafia, and restore safety and sobriety to Punjab.
