Chandigarh, May 14: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the results for the Class 12 (Intermediate) board exams on Wednesday. This year, 91.46% of candidates passed, with girls achieving an impressive pass rate of 94.73%, while boys recorded a pass percentage of 88.52%.

Three female students topped the Punjab 12th Board exams, each scoring a perfect 500 out of 500. Supneet Kaur from Mansa secured the first position, followed by Suhani Chauhan from Ludhiana in second place, and Divyanshi, also from Ludhiana, in third.

Following the announcement of the results, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met with the three top achievers and their parents in Chandigarh on Thursday. He shared photos of the meeting on his social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Today, I honored these promising daughters who have brought glory to Punjab in the Class 12 results. It is a matter of immense pride that 94.73% of girls passed this exam.”

He further expressed his joy in revealing that out of 278 students on the merit list, 217 are girls. “I salute these students, along with their parents and teachers, for their hard work,” he added.

CM Mann emphasized that these results demonstrate that children from ordinary families can achieve remarkable success when given opportunities. “Our government is modernizing schools through an ‘Education Revolution’ to fulfill the dreams of every child in Punjab. We are creating an environment where poverty will not hinder anyone’s progress, and Punjab’s education system will be world-class.”

Notably, 416 government schools in the state achieved a 100% pass rate, showcasing the impact of the Mann government’s education initiatives. The Class 12 board exams were conducted from February 17 to April 4, with a total of 265,417 students participating. Out of these, 242,755 students passed, including 125,695 girls and 139,716 boys, with 119,079 girls and 123,676 boys successfully completing the exams.
