Prime Minister Modi Advocates for Love and Harmony Through Vedic Wisdom

New Delhi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken to social media to promote social harmony and human values by sharing a significant Vedic mantra. Through this message, he called for actions that nurture love, goodwill, and brotherhood among individuals. He emphasized the need for deeds that connect hearts and encourage mutual affection within society.

The mantra shared by the Prime Minister on the platform X reads: “सहृदयं सांमनस्यमविद्वेषं कृणोमि वः. अन्यो अन्यमभि हर्यत वत्सं जातमिवाघ्न्या॥” In English, it translates to: “Humans should perform actions that enhance love, harmony, and goodwill in their hearts.” Modi highlighted that everyone should harbor affection and closeness towards one another, akin to how a cow loves its newborn calf.

This Vedic mantra is the first verse from the 30th hymn of the third book of the Atharva Veda. It conveys a divine message where God states, “O humans! I establish among you words and actions that make you of one heart, of one mind, and free from malice. Love one another as a cow loves her calf with boundless affection.”

The mantra serves as a call to eliminate differences among families, communities, and nations, promoting unity. The example of the cow and calf illustrates that just as a cow loves her calf selflessly, humans should also love one another. The essence of this mantra is that everyone’s purpose and thoughts should align for the welfare of each other, which is the core message of this Vedic prayer.
