
Bhubaneswar, April 21: President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a Tribal Museum, Planetarium, and Science Center during her one-day visit to Odisha on Tuesday.
According to the President’s Secretariat, she will also unveil the Planetarium and Science Center at a public event in Rourkela, along with the Nirmal Munda Environmental Path. Additionally, a Tribal Museum and an Integrated Command and Control Center will be inaugurated in Rourkela.
Extensive security measures have been implemented at all venues included in the President’s itinerary. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi will engage with President Murmu during her visit.
Earlier in February, President Murmu was on a six-day trip to her home state. She visited Jajpur, where she worshipped at the historic Birja Temple, dating back to the 13th century, and participated in several rituals at Nabhi Gaya.
The President also toured Balasore district and attended the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University. Later, she visited Puri to pay homage at the Shri Jagannath Temple, where she participated in prayers and rituals at this sacred 12th-century site. She also completed various special rituals in this coastal city.
During this trip, she visited Mayurbhanj district and participated in several events held in her home district. She attended a special program at the Jagannath Temple in Rai Rangpur and later toured the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary.
The following day, she directly interacted with women and youth from tribal communities in Simlipal, which is one of Odisha’s major biosphere reserves known for its rich biodiversity and tribal heritage.
On the same day, she participated in the ‘Black Swan Summit, India’ held in Bhubaneswar. This event was organized by the Odisha government in collaboration with the ‘Global Finance and Technology Network.’ After concluding her visit, President Murmu departed for Chhattisgarh, where she inaugurated the ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ festival in Jagdalpur.
