CM Yogi Criticizes Opposition for Hindering Womens Reservation Bill

Lucknow, April 21: In response to the opposition’s rejection of the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill, the BJP organized a ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padayatra’ in Lucknow. This march saw a significant turnout of women, BJP workers, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who walked from his residence to the assembly with cabinet colleagues. The procession covered approximately 1.75 kilometers and attracted thousands of participants. Addressing the crowd from a stage set up on the road outside the assembly, CM Yogi took aim at the opposition.

The Chief Minister stated, “Today, this protest march is led by our sisters. Due to the anti-people actions of the Samajwadi Party and Congress, there is immense anger among women across the country and the state. The Modi government aims to grant women their rights, but these parties are obstructing progress with their narrow-mindedness.”

He further commented, “Women are upset with the SP, Congress, and TMC. Protests are erupting nationwide. The opposition’s anti-women stance has been exposed. The Prime Minister has emphasized that there are only four categories in the country: women, the poor, youth, and farmers, with women being the foremost. He envisioned the implementation of women’s reservation by 2029. Yet, the opposition continues to act against women’s interests. Today’s protest sees sisters participating, reflecting how the central Modi government is implementing schemes for women, just as the double-engine government is doing.”

CM Yogi expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all the sisters who participated in the protest, assuring them that every individual in the state stands with them in support of their rightful demands.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who joined the ‘Jan Aakrosh Mahila Padayatra,’ remarked, “Parties that fail to secure women’s votes will not even open their accounts in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. This struggle will continue until reservation is implemented.”

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak added, “This is a direct result of the opposition from the Samajwadi Party and Congress. Women have taken to the streets in anger, showcasing their incredible strength.”

Addressing the participants, BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary stated, “Your enthusiasm reflects the anger women feel. Empowerment and respect for women are the identity of the BJP. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, our governments are consistently working for women’s empowerment, whether at the central or state level.”
