New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : President Droupadi Murmu will honor 48 school teachers with the National Teacher Awards on Teacher’s Day, September 5, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The ceremony will feature documentaries showcasing the outstanding work and achievements of the awardees, illustrating their contributions to school education and the impact they have had on their students’ lives.
The Ministry of Education organizes this national-level event each year under the Department of School Education and Literacy, recognizing some of the country’s finest educators. Award recipients are selected through a rigorous, transparent, and online nomination process designed to identify teachers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their profession.
The National Teacher Awards aim to celebrate the significant contributions of outstanding teachers who have improved the quality of school education and positively influenced their students’ lives through dedication, hard work, and commitment. Eligible teachers were invited to nominate themselves via the Ministry’s portal, with the nomination process open from June 15 to July 20, allowing educators from across the country to participate.
This year, the selection process involved three stages at the district, state, and national levels, culminating in the selection of 48 teachers from various backgrounds. These awardees hail from 27 states, seven union territories, and six organizations under the central government.
Among the 48 selected teachers, 26 are men and 22 are women, reflecting the diverse representation of educators from different regions and administrative areas across the country. The awards not only honor teachers who have contributed to creating better learning environments but also promote innovation, dedication, and excellence in teaching.
During the award ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, the selected teachers will come together to celebrate their contributions to education. Short documentaries highlighting their work, achievements, and the changes they have brought to teaching practices will further showcase their impact.
In Himachal Pradesh, 26 teachers will receive the State Teacher Award for their significant contributions to enhancing educational quality and shaping the future of the next generation. This group includes 21 school teachers and five college educators. Additionally, in Uttar Pradesh, 81 teachers recognized for their contributions to education will receive the State Teacher Award and Chief Minister Teacher Award from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This award ceremony will take place at the Yogiraj Baba Gorakhnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur, featuring 61 teachers from the Basic Education Department and 20 from the Secondary Education Department.
