Political Turmoil Erupts in Delhi Following Arrests in Nepal

New Delhi, March 28: A political storm has ignited in Delhi following the arrest of former Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have exchanged sharp rebuttals.

Former Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to the social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday to comment on the arrests. He stated, “The former Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal have been arrested due to their past misdeeds.”

Shortly after, Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra responded to Kejriwal’s post on ‘X’. He wrote, “Delhi’s former Chief Minister also went to jail for his misdeeds and will go again.”

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa of the Delhi government also weighed in on Kejriwal’s statement. He remarked, “A former Chief Minister, a Deputy Chief Minister, and their ministers have faced jail time for looting Delhi, and now they will face punishment.”

Sirsa’s comments followed his statement in the Delhi Assembly, where he accused Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal of making substantial profits “under the table.”

He elaborated, “The AAP government used to collect excise on liquor bottles. When they came to power, they changed the system to allow offers like ‘buy one, get one free,’ enabling them to profit openly and fill their pockets. You would be shocked to know that Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal made a lot of money ‘under the table’ from all this.”

Sirsa continued, “Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have squandered the hard-earned money of the people of Delhi to fill the pockets of their close associates. I want to ask, was this money their inheritance? Who gave them the right to squander the earnings of Delhi’s residents in this manner?”
