Political Reactions Surge After Prashant Kishors Victory in Bihar By-Election

Patna, August 3: Political reactions have intensified following the victory of Prashant Kishor, the candidate from Jan Suraj, in the by-election for the Bankipur assembly seat in Bihar. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, expressed their responses to the election results via social media. Meanwhile, state president Sanjay Sarawagi emphasized the need for a review of the party’s performance.

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary took to the social media platform ‘X’ to state that the people have chosen Jan Suraj in this grand festival of democracy. He expressed respect for the public’s decision and extended heartfelt congratulations to Prashant Kishor on his victory.

On the other hand, BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi acknowledged the mandate of the Bankipur by-election with humility, stating that the party respects the people’s decision. He emphasized that the public’s choice is paramount in a democratic process. Sarawagi mentioned that the party would conduct a serious review to understand why it did not receive the expected support and committed to addressing any shortcomings.

He further stated that the BJP never blames constitutional institutions, EVMs, or the Election Commission for its defeats. The party has full faith in democracy and constitutional systems, adhering to a tradition of self-reflection and review to improve its weaknesses.

RJD leader Rohini Acharya also congratulated Prashant Kishor on ‘X’, noting that the results of the Bankipur by-election have once again proven that victory belongs to those who continuously struggle, remain connected with the public, and maintain dialogue with their workers and supporters.

Acharya described this outcome as a victory of public trust in democracy and a setback for the BJP. She congratulated Kishor on his victory and wished him well for his dedicated service and future endeavors.
