Police Solve Murder Case in 72 Hours, Two Arrested in Rohini

New Delhi, February 20: The police have successfully solved a murder case that occurred near a petrol pump in Rohini on February 16. Rajeev Ranjan, the Additional Police Commissioner of Rohini district, provided significant details regarding the investigation.

On the evening of the incident, at 6:56 PM, Begumpur Police Station received a report about a man lying unconscious on the ground with stab wounds to his chest. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to SGM Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Amarnath Yadav, who had been stabbed and robbed of his mobile phone. An FIR was registered under section 103(1) of the BNS at Begumpur Police Station, and an investigation commenced. Under the leadership of the Begumpur SHO, a team successfully apprehended two suspects within three days.

During the investigation, the mobile crime team and the FSL Rohini team examined the crime scene and collected evidence. The investigation team conducted thorough questioning of local vendors, members of the surveillance plan, and scrap collectors. Based on technical surveillance and information from informants, they received credible tips that two individuals were seen riding a gray scooter near the crime scene.

The suspects were identified as drug addicts residing near GTB Colony (Sardar Colony) in Rohini, frequently seen in the area. Continuous efforts were made to locate them. On February 19, a 29-year-old suspect named Rohit was apprehended. During interrogation, he revealed that he had committed the crime with his accomplice, Durgesh, also known as Durgi. The police subsequently arrested Durgesh at his location. Following their leads, the police recovered the victim’s mobile phone, the eyewitness’s mobile phone, the vehicle used in the crime, the knife, and the blood-stained clothes worn by both suspects at the time of the incident.
